Hi SAP experts,
We would like to exempt some users, such as solman_admin and BI setup users, from the password policy. And one way is to set the user type to Service User instead of Dialog User.
Are there any implications if we change the existing user type? Will the processes attached to the user still work? We are just worried that there may be processes that will not work if we change the user type from dialog user to service user.
Thank you in advance for the feedback.
regards,
Grace
Hi Grace,
We have Solman_admin with type S service user and no problems encountered.
I think there wont be troubles, also i have experience in past we changed some technical users for rfc connections and same no problems.
Anyway you can switch it back any time if some issue occur.

hi
it is perfectly alright to change dia user to service user, more over you may get some advantages, service users wont expired due to production password policy setup.
But make sure very restricted general users with the value proposation, got assigned the service user type.
if the generic users for batch job, you can use the type system,
Please check.
Thanks
Jansi
