SAP GUI 7.30 PL2 - Installation crashes - SAP dynamic test scripts

Hi there,

we are trying to install SAP GUI 7.30 PL2. In several cases the installation crashes. In the nwsapsetup.log there is a "1W" who marks the package as disabled because of failing conditions. Afterwards there is another "1W" that the package could not be selected - that a disabled package can't be selected does make sense. But is it true that the deactivation of the package is the cause that it can't be selected afterwards?

Does anyone know what the conditions for installing "SAP dynamic test scripts" are? For what is "SAP dynamic test scripts" usefull - because if I don't need it, I can delete it out of my package list. I have checked this in "SAP Front End Installation Guide", "SAP Setup Guide" and other sources but I can't make it out.

Best regards,

Christian

Hallo Christian,

The installation gude (page 55) states that the prerequsites are

1) .Net 2.0 and

2) Office 2003 Primary Interop Assemblies

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=20923

If the above does not work:

1)uninstall the current SAPGUI
  Start -> Control panel -> Add/remove.

2)If the folder below exists, please delete the folder
  C:\Program Files\Common Files\Sap Shared

3)Delete all other folders where the sapgui was installed
  C:\%program files%\SAP\sapsetup
  C:\%program files%\SAP\Frontend
  C:\%program files%\SAP\Business Explorer
  C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\SAP Front End
  C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Business
  Explorer

4)Delete then all "SAP" entries in the windows registry in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\SharedDLLs
  (Please ONLY the SAP entries)

5)Execute the vc9_redist_x86.msi and vcredist_x86.msi under
System folder in your installation CD, then confirm if
the following program exists in your control panel:
  Microsoft redistributable runtime DLLs VS20XX.."
6)Install GUI with the latest compilation(GUI730 Compilation 2)

Best Regards.

Hi Christian,

I checked your error screenshot, the installation encountered an incompatibility error and it will not allow you to continue the installation.  If you fulfil the prerequisites with the compatible versions, you should be able to continue the installation.

Please check this link for additional information

Thanks
