unable to see TNS SERVICE NAME IN SYSTEM DSN

Hi ,

I have issue with oracle TNS SERVICE  NAME, actually I have configured the TNS name in Tnsservecenames.ora file

but i could not see the Tns service name when I try to creat a  SYSTEM DSN  . drop down list not showing the list of TNS name

any one aware of this

HI Mani,

Check the ODAC drivers version, if the drivers suitable for you operating system, check the tns entry in installed folders, TNS need to be same as the server

Hi Mahi,

As "Nawal" Suggested please use tnsping command in client machine (using CMD) that you are able to access Server Machine.

Hi Mahi,

Where are you trying to created this,and which drop down list (add a screenshot)?

Are you able to issue a tnsping command form the client command line?

If having problems, on the client check  your TNSNAMES.ORA, (the file name should be exactly that) and normally resides in the ORACLE HOME\NETWORK\ADMIN directory.
