PI Alerts not working

Hi Group,

IN PI7.3 I am trying to trigger Integration Engine alert i.e configured alerts in RWB to trigger for any mapping errors, but due to unknown reasons alerts not triggered, I tried with RSALERTTEST report and alert category working fine recevied alert but end to end its not working also when I executed SXMSALERT_LOGREADER report nothing is showing can any body suggest.

your screen shot looks good.

did you check the question no 10 in the note 913858?

did you check st22 for PIRWBUSER user?

try to do connection test for CentralMonitoringServer-PIAlerts.

it should be having user PIRWBUSER in the logon.

check PIRWBUSER credentials also.

Hi,

Your system should be 7.3 dual stack.

your configuration seems correct as RSALERTTEST is working fine.

you have to note while installing dual stack you have two options for selecting alerts.

1.Component-Based Message Alerting

2.Alert Framework

if basis have selected first one you have to do some parameter settings in SXMB_ADM(abap stack) and java stack to enable Alert framework.

because selecting Component-Based Message Alerting will disable classic alert framework(which is what you are trying).

please read below sap help link carefully and do the correction.

once it is done check it.

after that check the tcode SOST if you can find any logs there.

But how do I know in my system which option currently choose and also can any body suggest what are the setting we need to make to get entries in SXMSALERT_LOGREADER.

i suggest you to get in touch with basis. no problem still you can enable by doing following thins.

1. ABAP stack

go to tcode sxmb_adm

select Integration Engine Configuration

set ALERTING_IS_ACTIVE current value to 1.

set ALERTING_TARGET current value to 0 ( to use Alert Framework mechanism).

2.java stack

go to http://[host]:[port]/nwa

go to Configuration Infrastructure JAVA System Properties XPI Services: AF Core and choose tabServices.

set alerting.isActive value to true

set alerting.target value to 0.

after that make sure you are restarting the server.

(you can find all these above mentioned steps in sap help link )

you don't have to do any settings for this. correct me if i am wrong.

Thank you for your reply. But I did the config changes following your steps but there is no difference, Alerts are not triggering , when I am executing RSALERTTEST report mails are going but end to end

scenario not triggering also no entries found in SXMSALERT_LOGREADER , can any body help

ok. then could you check tcodes st22 and SLG1. let us see if you get any logs.

Hi Rajiv,

Check enabling and disabling "suppress multiple alerts" option in your alert rule some times this works.
