How much should I restart SAP?

Hello, I have SAP R3 with Oracle and I've backup Online, but I want now each How much should I restart SAP to free buffers?

do I need to restart SAP in some moment???

which the best recommendations are?

Hi Gustavo,

I think you concern is tuning buffers. Restart is not necessary for this. You can fine tune your buffers anyways. Please visit the link given below:

Additionally you can reset buffers using various SAP transactions:

$SYNC - buffers of the application server

$CUA - CUA buffer of the application server

$TAB - the TABLE buffers of the application server

$NAM - the nametab buffer of the application server $DYNP - the screen buffer of the application server

Sm56 can be used for resetting number range buffer.

However please note resetting of buffers can affect performance of the entire system.
