Site to Site Transfer b/w 6.0 and 6.1

Hi Experts,

As per 6.1 help

"Data transfer is supported only between sites of the same version of SAP ME. You cannot use this function to transfer data from 6.0 to 6.1 or from 5.2 to 6.0"

I have some scenarios or Sites that I have on my 6.0 server that I wanted to transfer to my 6.1 server.

As you can see the help says this is not possible using the Export/Import functions between the two.

Is ther any other way to accomplish this task?

Hi Udayan,

I guess you are talking about Configuration Data Transfer (CDT) rather then Site-2-Site Transfer.

Some options here:

1) migrate ME database from 6.0 to 6.1 as per Component Upgrade Guide, and then use CDT of 6.1 to export the data in a format of 6.1;

2) use DataXchange to export the data from 6.0 and then import it to 6.1 - some manual adjustment of XML structure may be needed;

3) manually play with structure of XMLs exported from 6.0 by means of Configuration Data Transfer to adjust it to the structure of 6.1 CDT XMLs.

For option 2 does a DataXChange tool exist today for ME 6.0 to 6.1?

Is this available for download from SMP?

This is a built-in tool. Please refer to Xchange guide for SAP ME 5.1 available at SMP. There was no changes about it since ME 5.1.
