SAP NetWeaver Application Server EE5

Hello out there,

I've just installed locally the SAP NW AS EE5 (in parallel to an already existing SAP AS Web Dynpro for ABAP=>WD4A).

Then I was trying to get started the AS EE5, but its "Java Server" always was stopping after a while.

Please can anybody help me in this case?

Is a coexistence AS EE5 and WD4A on the same machine not possible?

Hi Rizal,

Does it start and then stop or does it not reach the green state at all (e.g. in SAP Management Console)? In either case, information about the failure should be available in the logs in the instance work directory (C:\SAP\JP1\JC00\work).

Thanks for your fast reply and first help.

In SAP Management Console the Java Server never reached the "green state"

only yellow, then after some time it stopped (grey).

Alternatively I tried the way of starting the AS via file "Start Application Server" (C:\SAP\JP1\SYS\exe\run\startSystem.cmd) from the AS folder, all three instances were started one after another: database, central services and at least the J2EE server according to the log. The whole "Dos box" became green (but the SAP MC indicated still yellow). After a while I got the same result like described above.

The Java Server is up !

Thanks for the great hint. You're GREAT buddy!

The J2EE stopped all the time due to insufficient "IP->host name" allocation for

the Microsoft Loopbackadapter (IP 10.10.0.10) in the file C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts.
