SAP Gui 730 ABAP Editor in Win7 with keyboard problem

Hi guys,

For some reason my on-screen keyboard won't work with the 'new' ABAP editor, only the 'classic' one. Can a few kind people try using the SE38/SE80 ABAP editor with the on-screen keyboard ? Anyone know why this would occur?

On-screen keyboard on Win7: Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Ease of Access -> On-Screen Keyboard.

New editor:

Russ.

I'm currently at:

File version: 7300.2.4.1083

Build: 1407322

Patch: 4.

I believe that is the most recent. Well I can't see any higher

Hello Russell,

Looks like a limitation.

I tested with 7.20 and get the same (no) response.

I'll test with different themes and update.

UPDATED

All themes seem to show this issue.

Has there been a circumstance where this ever worked before?

Hi,

Thanks for trying! I couldn't swear, but I'm convinced it has worked before now. Possibly a Windows update killed it, but it works with EVERY other application other than SAP GUI.

I think I'll have to raise an OSS message.

Cheers,

Russ.

Hello Russ,

I will try to test with 7.10 and new abap editor first.

UPDATE,

I tested with 7.10 GUI and it does not work.

I can only conclude that this is not supported with the new abap editor.

If you want to raise a message, raise this in BC-ABA-LA

Kind Regards,

Jude

Someone needs to give points to Christoper Willems post.

The Windows 7 and 8 On-Screen Keyboard does not work together with the ABAP Edit Control. Backspace and cursor keys are working but no other keys.  The behavior of the Windows On-Screen Keyboard had changed and the ABAP Edit Control was not adopted to this change.

Core patch 6 for the SAP GUI for Windows corrects the problem described.  This patch is scheduled for release on September 20, 2013.
