Project Systems - Enabling Classification of WBS elements

Hi,

In CJ20N transaction we can see that Extras->Classification->Classification Systems is greyed out always. We have created a characteristic in CT04, and have assigned the same to a class created inCL02.  We also ensured that the table PRPS is entered in table "Maintain objecttypes and Class Types"  But we were not able to link the class with a WBS element.

When there is a class type WBS present in the system why are we not able to classify WBS elments? We wanted to know whether Classification

as a functionality is enabled for Project Systems SAP Version 46C. Is it possible to use classification in Project Systems as we use the same in

MM, for example as we use in material classification or as used for Release Strategy in Purchase Requests.

But if classification is disabled in CJ20N, then I have one more question.  We have a class type WBS in TCLA table. But the problem is when we try to configure PRPS as a object type with class type WBS, we are the getting the following error

"Message CL 631 - Diagnosis: You want to delete an indicator that controls block selection in class maintenance.  Procedure: First delete the indicator in the class types of the object."

Is it possible to work something out here to enable WBS classification.

Regards,

Sathesh

H Sathesh,

You can use the classification for WBS element only for the purpose of summarization.

For "classification" to be enabled in CJ20N, it depends on the setting in your Project profile (transaction OPSA) - for field "Proj.Summ.MastData". Please press F1 for further description.

Hi Gordon,

Thanks for your reply.  Yeah, that is the right answer.  Infact I raised and OSS note with SAP.  They confirmed that Classification of WBS element is not in the standard delivered package.  We are in SAP 4.6C
