Distribution of Specifications using ALE With Recipient System in form of a Batch Job

Former Member

Hi All,

My requirement is that I need to distribute/exchange the Specification (CG02, search the specification with Identifier, select the Specification) Using Data Exchange--> ALE with Recipient Selection and selecting the correct logical System.

Can Anyone tell me if there is a Standard SAP functionality for this?

I tried to Record a BDC for the same, but the problem I am Facing in BDC is that, it is not selecting the correct Logical System and always selects the Default one in the sub-screen.

Please suggest the options. Thanks

Dear Gaurish

the distribution of specs via ALE is absolute standard. BDC can not be used in context of SAP EH&S (there exists a corresponding OSS note).

What are the actions required:

1.) proper set up of ALE (especially in EH&S area) and jobs regarding that

2.) proper set up of recipient system (this is called normally "outbond" process)

3.) proper set up in recipient system (this is normally called inbound process)

4.) proper set up of authorization rights of users etc.

PLease check first this link:

and read cross regarding chapter:

Distribution (ALE) of Specifications, Phrases, and Reports

as well as

Distributing Specifications Manually

There is no "automatic" process available (by SAP stzandard): that means: the first "push" of a spec is done manually; chjnges are then distributed automatic; but it is clear that you can do something here (if needed)

The topic of ALE distrbution of specs is disceussed rarely in this FORUM
