Production Order Operations are getting rescheduled to year 2037 in APO

Hi All,

We have recently done an upgrade from SCM 7.0 to 7.2 and are having some trouble with Production Order Scheduling.

After the upgrade we found that any changes made to operations in a production order in ECC is causing these operations to get re-scheduled to 31.12.2037 in APO.

For example Production Order has 5 Operations and we make changes like changing the processing time or labor rate etc to 5th Operation in C002. On saving this Operation is getting rescheduled to 31.12.2037 in APO. Only this operation is getting affected while all other operations remain the same.

If anyone can shed any light on this Issue it will be very useful.

1. What is the significance of the year 2037 in APO. We want to understand if there is any setting that is causing this operation to get rescheduled in APO and why to 2037.

Regards,

Sharath

Hi Sharath,

In the strategy profile, you should use "always consider the order internal relationships." to avoid the issue.

Hi Sharath,

From what you describe issue looks to be with Break duration(orders cannot be interrupted by breaks). I am not sure if you are using PPM or PDS, if you are using PPM pls check if the checkbox for orders can be interrupted by breaks are unchecked for that operation.

In case of PDS it set to default(orders cannot be interrupted by breaks ) .The reason why the orders are getting pushed to 2037 is all your shifts might be generated until 2037. So if your order(operation) cannot fit within a shift it will push to the end.

Hope this helps.

Hi Kiru,

Thanks a lot for the reply. We are using PDS so this should be set by Default. This is rescheduling is happening only when there is a change in R/3. Shouldn't the setting that you are saying affect all operations while creating the order itself. This however does not happen when the order is created. Only when we try to make changes to a operation in R/3 it is getting rescheduled in APO.

Please let us know your thoughts on this.
