Hi all,
I'm testing SP4 and trying to get rid of some validation rules with setting certain fields to "required" in the console. After compact and update indices, I'm still able to save records without filling in those required fields.
Hi,
Just going through the help file tells me that the required field is Advisory only; for use with validation expressions.
Regards,
Tanveer.

So, in fact this flag has no influence?
I checked again the Definition in a dicitionary:
--> require verb [T] - to need or make necessary

Missale,
We are having the same concern in our implementation.
So far we were able to achive the mandatory fields concept via Validations.
I agree with you that the word "Required" has no influence whatsover.
The functionality is not correctly supported by MDM.
I guess you may have to continue using the validations till SAP comes up with a working model.
