Alert configuration in SAP PI 7.31 (Single-stack)

Hi,

I have to configure alerts and the configuration is to be done on
SAP PI 7.31 (single-stack i.e Java),

Please let me know step by step what all the configuration

needs to be done.

The requirement is whenever any critical error occurs the PI

should trigger the alert and forward it to mail recipient.
