Unable to Create User Properly in LDAP

Former Member

hi all,

i have a Composition Environment system (SAP NW CE 7.3) that is connected to an LDAP server (Sun Java Directory Services) for user administration. The structure of the LDAP is a tree (deep) structure whereby I have a domain (dc=ABC, dc=mu), then under the domain i have 3 groups GroupA, GroupB and GroupC (ou). Then under each group i have users (uid).

In CE UME User Administration, i am able to see these LDAP groups. The problem is that when i create a user in UME and when I assign the user to groupA for example, the group is not being assigned to the user and user is created right under the domain and not under GroupA. Is there a way i can specify these groups in the datasource configuration xml file or somewhere else so that i will be able to create the user under the appropriate group?

Please give your suggestions.

regards.

Hi all,

In fact, I came to know that the issue is due to the hierarchy - whether flat or deep.

So can someone suggest how to construct a flat hierarchy given the above context.

regards.
