Planning Horizon is smaller than Past horizon of the Forecast

Hi All,

I have a scenario in which I have to forecast from Jan 2013 to Nov 2014.

My history horizon in the Master forecast profile is 36 Months; from April 2010 to April 2013.

My Forecast horizon is from Jan 2013 to Nov 2014. As you can see, there is a overlap of 4 months. i.e, Jan to April 2013 are in the history as well as forecast horizon.

When I run the forecast background job, it runs for about 500 seconds and completes and shows that it has finished; but when I check the log,

it shows "Planning Horizon is smaller than Past horizon of the Forecast" and no forecast has been generated in the forecast keyfigure.

Please advise if I'm missing any settings.

Thanks in advance.

Marvin

Hi Marvin,

Please do a Planning area Initialization. Check if the future dates are correct or not in that. It should work fine.

Thanks Rorie.

Should I right click on the planning area and click Create Time series or is there any other way to do this.

Appreciate your quick reply.

Thanks

yes you can do that, or you can run the program

/SAPAPO/TS_PAREA_INITIALIZE. Dont use the check box "update master data" and delta initialization"
