ERP 6.0 EHP6 ready system Upgrade+SAINT

Hi All,

I have installed ERP 6.0 EHP6 ready system in that only central components are 606 level, I need to upgrade HR (604) and all other patches latest level.

I have started upgrading through SUM tool but I am not able to while config phase (support pack inclusion) database is down automatically when I stop the SUM tool and restart the system r3trans-0000 and bale to login GUI as well.

I have raised with the message sap they said because of DBSL file database is going down ,the will release dbsl 431 very soon.

I have downloaded the stack file as well from MOPZ and downloaded the patches .

Is their any possibility go head with SAINT t code for upgrading already I am in ERP 6.0 EHP6 level, what is the procedure for through SAINT .XML file required or ?

Other wise can I put HR packages EA_HR 606 SAP_HR only in eps/in and upgrade through saint ?

After that I will start applying the patches through SPAM.

Hi ,

For SAP HR patches you can go ahead with SAINT. You need to take care that all the dependent patches as described in the XML file are also applied through SPAM/SAINT.

what abt the other EA_FINSERV,FINBASIS ?

I need to load .xml file through SAINT? or directly I need to put EA_HR 606 and SAP_HR 604 0 levels packegs eps/in and upgrade after that I will go through spam and apply the patches ?

Please suggest and correct me if I am wrong?

Hi,

You need to make use of XML file while performing upgrade using SAINT. For other dependent packages like EA-FINSERV etc you need to download and extract them under /usr/sap/trans/EPS/in

along with SAP-HR patches.

Hi Deepak,

Have you checked my xml text file ?

I will follow below procedure if I am wrong please correct me:

1)After downloading .sar files uncar all sar files and put into EPs/in direcgtory

2)Go to SAINT load package from application server ( or I need load from .xml) please suggest?

3) then automatically it will pickup and upgrade as well patches ,noe need to go again spam right?

4)One more doubt I have generated .XML file with temp licnese and to use saint I need to apply licnese ,in that time system no and installation will change can we edit these 2 for manually?

5) No need .XML can I go a head with load from application server ?

Yes. Correct.

When you load using SAINT it will ask for XML file. Hence XML file is required.

You may add the add-on files along with required patches using SAINT only.

For applying any patches in the system, permanent license as well as maintenance license is required to be applied in the system. You cannot proceed without this.

XML is required for going ahead with the patching. We cannot avoid this file.

Ye sure I will apply the license after the licnese system no and installation no will be changed right ,as per present my installation no is "INITIAL" .

Can we change system no amd installation number manually?

How to change system no as temp license my system no is:System No. Empty

Can you please download the following ACP from the SMP uncar them and keep the PAT files in the EPS\in directory and then try to continue.

Hi All,

Issue resolved after adding the delta patches K-606BHINEAFINSRV.sar files etc

Becuse its a ERP 6.0 EHP6 ready system while upgrading like ea_hr and SAP_HR and finserv you need to put delta patches in eps/in directory .
