SRM/CRM need further system ?

Former Member

Hello,

we are preparing an upgrade from 4.6 C to ECC 6.0, and therefore I have now a question about systems like SRM/CRM.

Do you need for this system an own database and ABAP/java application server ?

Or it is possible to add it to another system ?

Thanks for help !

Regards,

Alessandro

Hi,

We aren't sure if we need e.g. for a SRM-SYSTEM (Supplier Relationship Management) a own database and application-server

or if it could be possible to import it to a existent sap-system!

Hello,

Your requirement is to upgrade your 4.6c to ECC 6.0, you can refer link for availability and support from SAP at service.sap.com/pam

If you require then only install SRM, there is no hard and fast rule for having SRM in your landscape. It only depends on your business requirement. If your current landscape have SRM then you need to upgrade to latest version. There is no problem you can add you SRM to ECC database Multiple Components in One Database (MCOD), but SAP recommands to install seprace DB for seprate application.

Thank you for your answer, but do I need a further netweaver-server for SRM ?

Or it is only a add-on for a existent netweaver application-server ?

Hello,

You should have a seprate server for SRM. You can also add-on on existing NetWeaver but you should have sufficient h/w to handle the load for ECC and SRM.
