Wily Introscope Installation Error

Hi,

I am installing Wily Introscope 9. I have downloaded the latest package

from Marketplace. I have downloaded WILYISEM10P_2-20007494.SAR which is

Linux and we are using Linux Operating system. I have enough space in

/tmp directory and set the parameter for it too

I have done all steps of extracting and making directories and adjusting

installer.properties file accordingly. I have accepted license agrrement

on both eula.txt and ca-eula.txt.

I am running silent installation with command

./introscope9.1.0.2linuxAMD64SAP.bin -Djava.awt.headless=true

But I am getting following error in file silent.install.failed.txt: -

Invalid External Component Package Specified

The specified package,

/sap_inst/SAPMedia/Wily_introscope/WILYISEM/osgiPackages.v9.5.0.0.unix.tar,

is version 2.0 or earlier. This Introscope installer requires version 2.1

of the external components package.

Edit the responsefile so that the externalComponentPackage property

refers to version 2.1 of the external components package, then rerun the

silent installer.

I tried all different components by downloading from

http://opensrcd.ca.com/ips/osgi/

I tried folowing packages

introscope_9.1.0.0/

introscope_9.1.0.2/

introscope_9.1.2.0/

introscope_9.1.6.0/

introscope_9.5.0.0/ 

But even then it is giving the same error. I adjusted

installer.properties files for each component i tried.

Not sure where I am going wrong

P.S. - I tried the same with downloading Wily from SMP of patch level 0 but with same results

I will appreciate any help on this

I had this same issue and tried to download latest osgi packages as per the documentation:

introscope_9.1.4.0/ 20-Dec-2012 02:20 -

introscope_9.1.5.0/ 30-Jan-2013 08:44 -

introscope_9.1.6.0/ 28-Mar-2013 01:48 -

introscope_9.1.7.0/ 11-Jun-2013 02:00 -

introscope_9.5.0.0/ 29-May-2013 02:38

Then realized that documentation was not right:

Add the External Component Package

Copy the External Component Package

Copy the two files that you downloaded from CA’s FTP server to the directory which contains the installer (see Chapter 1, Download Third-Party External Component Package from CA). The following files should be copied:

 eula.txt

 The osgiPackages archive appropriate for your system:

o osgiPackages.v9.1.5.0.windows.zip, for a Windows system

o osgiPackages.v9.1.5.0.unix.tar, for a UNIX system (including IBM i)

After few other attempts, I used osgi package ver. 2.1.4 and it worked fine:

Installation was done successfully.

Hi,

In my case, the issue was with package downloading. It was getting corrupted when i was downloading it. You can compare the size of the 3rd party package on the website and one you have downloaded. The size was not matching. So SAP OSS provided me a download link from their download store and I downloaded from there and it worked well after that.

But make sure you are downloading the right package. Wrong package could also be the issue
