Allow Multiple Time-Based Assembly rule

Former Member

Hi,

After installing SAP ME 6.0.4.6 patch I see a new system rule

named Allow Multiple Time-Based assembly.

When looking in the help I find no information about the purpose of this rule.

Can someone please explain to me what usage it has?

Best Regards,

Johan

Hi Johan,

When the value is TRUE, time based assembly will take affect and the quantity of a slot configuration will be decremented for each SFC that is started at an operation/resource. When the value is FALSE, the existing behavior will remain intact.

When setting the new system rule to TRUE, the SLOT_QTY_DECREMENT hook must be attached as a PRE_START hook versus a POST_START hook.  Then, the quantity will be decremented when there is no existing time based assembly already in effect.

The entire quantity for a component must be completely removed in order for time based assembly to occur again.  If only a partial quantity is removed, then time based assembly will be bypassed even if the system
rule is TRUE.  In such cases, partial re-assembly can be performed manually via the As Built activity.

SAP Note 1855978 about it should be released soon.

Regards,

Alex.
