I have installed solution manager 4.0 on AIX 5.3 (Database - MaxDB).
How to login in it?
Is it required to create client so as to login?
If yes, how to create client in SolMan?

Which GUI should I install?
There are many options like
1.SAP GUI for windows
2. SAP GUI for java
I want to install SAP- Netweaver 2004s on AIX 5.3(using MaxDB as Database).
I choose EP, EP Core and AS Java for installing this.
I installed solution manager for generating "Solution Manager Key", which is required in installation of SAP Netweaver 2004s.
Please reply.

Hi,
For logging in you simply need a SAP GUI to be installed on your PC.
It would be better if you install SAP GUI 640. Then by addind the details of the server you can login to the 000 client either by SAP* or DDIC users.
Thereafter to be on safer side create a client and use it for later purposes.
For it first create a logical system using BD54 and then create a client using SCC4 and making use of the logical system created previously.
Thereafter do client copy using SCCL to transfer data from 000 to new client. Thereafter login to the new client with SAP* and then create users which you can use for later uses.
Regards,
Abhishek

Hi Initially to login in Solman, you will have to login into client 000 which is the default client with the default user ie ddic or sap, after that first create a logical system usind BD54 and then create a client using SCC4 and assign it the logical system you have just created, now login into the new client using sap and then schedule a local client copy by transaction sccl and select SAP_ALL profile, I think that will be it, please reward with points if found helpful
