Hi  Amit,

My issue got resolved...

because of backup log files got full HANA not cumming up. I have deleted the old log files and restart the server. Now its working fine.

Teja

Hi Lily,

If you navigate to /usr/sap/<SID>/HDBXX/exe and call hdbdaemon is a more robust error provided?  Have you called cleanipc <instance> remove and used ipcrm to remove any remain shared memory segments?  Have you checked /usr/sap/<SID>/HDBXX/<hostname>trace and check the daemon trace file?

Above the XX in HDBXX should be replaced by the instance number.

Best regards,

Thanks, Duncan.

I figured out this error is due to the DR was unable to talk to primary. Then the DR was unable to start up correctly.

After I setup the replication correctly, the DR was able to start up correctly.

Thanks,

Hi Lily,

I am also facing the same issue. I configures replication as mentioned in SAP HANA Admin Guide. Its configured successfully. But after that when i started the DR using HDB its giving me the same error:

FAIL: process hdbdaemon HDB Daemon not running.

Please let me know what changes you do to correct the replication.

Hi Amit

Most likely, missing some pre-requirement for setting up replication causes this error. Go to the  trace dir, check the trace files and find the exact error message.

In my case, in the trace file, it shows the DR host cannot request from the primary side. I finally figured out this is caused by the misconfiguration of hostname.

log into hdbsql

\s

the host info shown there has to be exact the same  as ( including the domain name) the one you use to configure the replication.

Hello Lingrong,

I am also gettign the same error, while starting the database on the Secondary Server.

My primary Server Hostname: aps85-73

My Secondary Server Hostname: aps85-75

Where to check exactly what is causing the issue? trace files shows noting specific.
