Hi Guys,
I am using transaction code sara to archive collaborations in cFolders 3.1 using the archiving object "CFX_ARCH". The archiving process works fine and I can see the details of the archived collaboration using the "Read" option in tcode sara. However, I see no way to retrieve the actual documents which are contained in the folders. So I am wondering if;
1. The archiving process archives the actual documents contained within cFolders?
2. If YES, how do I retrieve them?
3. If NO, shouldn't the documents be archived as well? any particular reason why this does not happen?
Appreciate any help on this.
Cheers,
Lashan
Hi Lashan,
The archiving process will archive the actual docs if you had run the archive write in update mode and not in test mode.
For the actual retrieval ( I am assuming that you want to merely view the archived docs and not load them back into the database) , you will have to use the archive retrieval tool. Which will the archive info stucture,. if the archive infostructure is not active - you might have to activate it and use the necessary fields.
Let me know your email id.. i can send u a detailed doc on all this..
Thanks

Hi Lashan,
Suggest you proceed like this.. go to sara.. type the object name and enter, then click on information system where u will have 3 options,.. click on customizing and then create your infostructure,, you will have to activate this infostraucture once you have added the required fields.
Try it out and revert with ur experience !
Let me know in case u need a document on this!
Thanks

Hi Lashan
Yes you are rightl, if you try an f4 and find no relevant field catalogs existing, you will have to create one. This document might help you in creating a field catalog.

Hi Janani,
Thanks for all the help with this and apologies for the long silence. I didn't really go ahead with configuring this in the production system. Was mainly doing the investigations as proof of concept for an archiving proposal. We will probably look into this again sometime end of the year when we have enough data volume in the system.
Cheers,
Lashan
Hi Janani,
Can you please send me the document, it might be an old thread, but we have a requirement for archiving the documents in cFolders. my mail id: vaishu.sri@gmail.com
Thanks in advance,
Sri
Hi Lashan,
have a look at note 525873, it gives step by step example for creating a new field catalog (for some other object, but you can follow the example)
