Hi Balaji,

The log file location is at OS level and you can find out it's location in the transaction code DB02 ex: <SID>LOG1 and it's phsical name : E:\<SID>LOG1\<SID>LOG1.ldf. Goto that location at OS level and take the backup of log file to somewhere.

Deleting log file means

directly deleting the file <SID> LOG1 or any Tcode for the same

Hello,

Do not delete any log file you may face problems. You have not cleared my question which I asked you about the log files, could you please provide me the location of the log file? if it is Database log file, then you can shrink it.

Cheers,

I dont know whether it is Database log file or not

But i increase teh log file size by logging to MS sQL Server> Right Click Database> Properties

Please let me know whether it is a database log file

I tried to compress but did not work

Hello,

Yes, then it mean it is DB log file. You should configure the backup procedure for your DB.

Refer SAP note 1002099 How to shrink the logfile on MSSQL server 2000

-Sunil
