Problem in Phase CHECKPROF_INI using SUM SP07 to Update SolMan 7.1 to SPS08

Hello community,

I am currently trying to update a Solution Manager 7.1 SR1 SPS4 (fresh installation) to SPS08 using the SUM. I'm using the newest SUM "SUM10SP07_2-20006676.SAR" from the SWDC.

Operating system: Win Server 2008 R2

Database: MS SQL Server 2008 R2

In phase PREP_INIT/CHECKPROF_INI the SUM stops because of the following error:

ERROR: The executable tp in D:\SUM\abap\exe is too old.

It needs at least version 380.07.22 or higher.

Download the new tools according to SAP Note 19466 and put the archives into the download directory.

What I have already tried to solve this issue:

1. Downloaded and extracted the following 702 Kernel files to the Kernel directories:

Directory:

K:\usr\sap\SM1\DVEBMGS00\exe

K:\usr\sap\SM1\SYS\exe\uc\NTAMD64

Kernel-files:

SAPEXE_402-10007272.SAR

SAPEXEDB_402-10007271.SAR

dw_429-10007272.sar

lib_dbsl_427-10007271.sar

2. Additionally I've deposited the newest R3Trans.sar "R3trans_421-10007272.SAR" into the directory where the xml file and SP-files are stored

The R3Trans.exe version in the SUM directory and in the Kernel directorys shows the following version information:

kernel release 720

kernel make variant           720_REL

DBMS client library SQL_Server_9.00

DBSL shared library version   720.00

compiled on NT 5.2 3790 S x86 MS VC++ 14.00 for NTAMD64

compiled for 64 BIT

compilation mode UNICODE

compile time Mar 24 2013 20:07:15

update level 0

patch number 421

source id 0.421

My attempts to solve this issue have not been successful yet. Do you have any other hints?

Thanks in advance. Best regards,

Marek

Hi

are you still receiving the same error? If yes, stop everything and restart the machine, maybe is keeping the old version in mem.

Let me know

Hello Andrea,

I have:

  • stopped everything
  • deleted SUM directory
  • restarted the server
  • extracted SUM again
  • started SUM again

But the same error pops up again.

SUM asks for a newer tp... Newer than exixts in the 402 SAPEXE package.

Download the newest tp*.sar for your platform and extract  that in the kernel directory.

Hello Ken,

with the newest tp.exe this error no longer occurs. Thank you.
