WD Theme VS Portal Theme

Hi SCN,

We have a WD application which uses WD theme, which is much heavy. We pass the theme to standalone WD app. as URL parameter.

If we do not pass the theme the application loads faster, but with SAP_Tradeshow theme.

I am interested in knowing, which is a better option WD theme or Portal theme ?

We do not use any specific features in WD theme for any UI elements. So current WD theme can be easily replicated as Portal theme.

Suggestions welcome!!

If you are using portal to integrate the WDJ applications then you are better off using the portal theme since it is already loaded into your browser cache. Standalone themes in WDJ and WDA are unsupported anyway since NetWeaver 7.02.

We are having a standalone application in WDJ, so we use standalone WD theme as of now.

Do we have an option to use standlaone theme even in 7.31 ? any clue / document for this ?

You can set the theme with WD application parameters, URL parameters or by configuring a global WD theme.
