Transaction Tax Engine - Internet Pricing Component - set up?

Hello experts,

We have a requierment to determine and calculate the tax code in SRM (we have SRM 7) with different criterias which are more complex than the standard can deliver. During our research we have found that SRM supports different set up of the tax code system (No tax, Backend tax calculation, External for Vertex and Taxware and Tax Calculation via TTE).

Looking into the TTE I've seen that there is some configuration needed as far as tax codes are concerned, but before you can do that you need to create a connection to the IPC (Internet Pricing Component). Based on this findings some questions arose in our minds:

Before the question, one more mention: we are using SRM 7.0 without any CRM.

1. Does the IPC need necesarrily the CRM component?

2. If the answer to the question above is no, who do you confirgure the IPC?

3. How is the IPC accessed (from the browser or from the backend)?

This question is not answered but it's neither valid anylonger.. We have decided to go through another process and created a new ehnacement for the tax code determination.
