UAT nightmare

We have had hard stops in timing because the business will not approve the solution until UAT is 100% complete. To me it seems they are using UAT to stall/delay the project during this phase of the implementation.

Can anyone provide some suggestion or offer advice of how to get through the UAT phase quicker?

Dear Jon,

Here are my thoughts:

1. Biz team is suppose to be like this right.. Put yourself in Biz shoes and see if you would sign off.

2. Typically,   IT team would list all the issues and identify "Occurrence" and "Severity" for all issue and also "Show Stoppers".   Your Business and IT should be candid to solve all Show stoppers.

3. In any project, the Project team cannot solve all problems.  So, U should stick to you BRD , GAP analysis and what was committed to deliver.

4. Any issue that were Corner cases or that will happen once in month or low frequency should be identified and IT should provide adequate, workable workaround.

Any issue that is due to GAP in understanding or the requirement or some obvious scenario is not working, then take the hit, mitigate it.

Some issue will always have no solution as SAP designed it differently, this U have to express up-front.

At, end of the day, the Project has "IT + Biz" working together right.. U should have a risk assessment during each phase if possible.

Though all above points are generic in nature, unless U have a specific challenge the forum cannot provide a suggestion.

Hope this helps.

Thx

MJ
