Patch Upgrade ERP 6.0 EHP6+windows+Sybase

HI All,

I have installed ERP 6,0 EHP6 system , I need to upgrade patches now all componnets ,Now my doubt is can i upgrade through 000 client sap* or I need to create client and after client copy only I need to update the ptaches .

For applying ptaches I need solman or is their ANY OTHER way .

Hello,

Considering you have to apply SP on client 000 always actually it doesn't matter if you create a new system before or after to apply the patches. Probably the best idea is to create the new client after you finish with the patch application.

About downloading the patches please the following route in the Support Portal:

Software Downloads -> SAP Software Download Center -> Support Packages and Patches -> SAP Support Package Stacks -> SP Stack Download & Side effect report.

Anway I recommend to use the Maintenance Optimizer in Solution Manager because it easier and faster.

Now my lient is asking all 600 relase should be 606 level ,without solman through above procedure can id ownlaod the patches apply through SAINT is it possible.

My router server is not working now is it possible without Router server can we download paches through Solman.

Hello,

It seems that there is no option to calculate and download the SP stack from Support Portal for ERP 6.06. Please check the following router

Software Downloads -> SAP Software Download Center -> Support Packages and Patches -> SAP Support Package Stacks -> SP Stack Download & Side effect report

There check the first document 'Access to SP Stack SAP Enhancement packages via MOPz':

Implementation and maintenance of SAP enhancement packages is available via SAP Solution Manager's Maintenance Optimizer (MOPZ), only.

Relevant product versions:  

• SAP enhancement package 2 (and higher) for SAP ERP 6.0 
• SAP enhancement package 1 (and higher) for SAP CRM 7.0 
• SAP enhancement package 1 (and higher) for SAP SRM 7.0 
• SAP enhancement package 1 (and higher) for SAP SCM 7.0 
• SAP enhancement package 2 (and higher) for SAP NetWeaver 7.0 
• SAP NetWeaver 7.30 (and higher)

So it seems you need to use a Solution Manager in order to plan and approve the SP download.

Hi SapBasis,

You can download the latest patches corresponding to the above components from service marketplace (Software Downloads->Support Packs and packages). Spam is used for raising the patch level.

There are two ways you can apply the patches:

1. Upload the downloaded patches in spam from application server. For that you have to put the extracted patches at OS level in  /usr/trans/EPS/in folder and then start patching.

2. Upload the downloaded patches(after extracting) from front end (i.e. your system) and start patching.

Hi,

Goto service market place and then follow:

Software Downloads->Support Packages->A-Z index->SAP ERP->SAP ERP Enhancement Package->EHP6 for SAp ERP 6.0->Entry by component and then select the component you need to be patch.

While downloading check the patch level.

Hello All,

As every one rightly mentioned, I fear there are no other option with out MOPSz. I also read that the client's requirement is to have 606 level which is to have enhancement package 6. This means you will not able to perform through traditional SPAM/SAINT and you should use Software Update Manager 1.0 (You may select the relevant patch level as well, if am not mistaken it is 7). Please also keep in mind that thet is no enhancement package 6 for SAP_HR components, it is now 4 (As far as I rememeber). This means after the Ehp inclusion the component version will be SAP_HR**** 604.

HI,

The better way of doing is it. Patching the system now to latest. Ensure you have upgraded SPAM and Kernel before that.

For downloading you can download them from MPOZ from Solution manager. After this you can create your client.

Hi,

For applying patches you need to always use client 000 . You may use DDIC or any other user except SAP* to apply the patches.

Solman is required for approving the patches . I suppose for EHP6 patches approval through solman is not mandatory.

Hi ,

You need to have SAProuter configured for MOPZ to work.

If this is the first system in your landscape, I shall suggest you to raise an OSS to get SAP support approve these patches for you to download.

Hi ,

You need to directly login to www.service.sap.com/patches using the SAP service ID.

Select the patches which you need and add the same into download basket.

Once these patches are in the download basket, you may raise an OSS message to SAP for approving the same.

I need to upgrade these levels to 606 ,how can i select all the patches in SMP.

I have read some posts HR level will be under 604 only but i have serached in SMP EA_HR is 606 level.

But i have serached in SMP like this way
