Viewing archived developer traces

Hi,

We have enabled archiving for the developer traces on our production system.

Would like to know how can I easily view the archived logs in a way so that I can apply filter and search for particular records the way it appears in logviewer ?

Is there any tool that can help in viewing the archived logs easily ? Can the archived logs from prod system be imported to a dev system and viewed in logviewer there ?

Any help is highly appreciated.

Regards,

Vijay

Hi Vijay,

You can delete the temporary log and trace files that are generated by the system when you view the archives using the Log Viewer.

When you open archives of logs and traces, the log and trace files of each archive are extracted to the temporary directory . For eg:./log/archive/temp.

Afterwards, the log and trace files are not deleted from the temporary directory. The next time you want to view the same archives, they will be displayed faster.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Deepak for replying.

Would you provide me a high level overview of steps required to view the archived traces ?

Can I download the production archives and somehow import them into the logviewer of a Dev system so that they can be easily viewable ?

Regards,

Vijay.
