Hi,
We have a Change Management tool in my company and we are analyzing pros and cons for using Change Management in SolMan instead of our current tool.
If a user wants to raise a Request for Change through Solution Manager, does he need to have a license ? what type of license would he need ? ESS license, GUI license ?
Regards,
Florence
SAP Solution Manager is included as part of your support offering. In the scenario you propose, the user would need an account to acccess on Solution Manager and they can use the ChaRM (The change request system). Solution Manager has many tools to assist you in all phases of the Application Lifecycle Management. You may want to ensure you have obtained a permanent license for your solution manager system. This should be self serve via Service Market place. Another feature Solution Manager provides is Service Desk, which is an incident management system that integrates with OSS/CSS (SAP messaging system. Regards, Paul

Thanks Paul, I confirm we have a permanent license for Solution Manager. We have bought SAP HCM with 1200 licences GUI, 10 000 MSS licences and 90 000 licences ESS. You mean that there is no limitation for creating accounts in Solution Manager ? if we want to autorize 2000 users to raise change request and do not have necessary a licence GUI, it is possible ?
