Hi Sandeep,

If the phased out material is already active in the integration model, then you need to change the procurement type into P in APO to prevent further planning. As it's cumbersome to choose every material and change the procurement type, SAP has given an automated option to do this.

Based on the filter criteria you have given for the materials in CIF, you can decide to exclude the material fro integration models and subsequently from APO planning. Common understanding is you have MRP type = X0 for all your APO planned materials and the CIF criteria is also with MRP type = X0.

Now goto your phased out material in ECC material master and change the MRP type = ND. Some companies follow the plant material status which is more convinent. However, let's stick to basics now.

After changing the MRP type in material master, goto CFM2 and check the "log deactivated materials" option. Now deactivate the materials integration model.

Use RCIFMTDE program in ECC and execute the same. This will push the procurement type change from E/F/X to P in APO for all the materials which are currently not active in Integration Model.

You can automate this process using night jobs on weekly or monthly basis as per your NPI process in your organization.

Hi Sandeep,

If you have an IM that has already got the product that is already Phased out; you have the following options to exclude it

1) Change Integration Model - ( Transaction code :- CFM6 )

Using this transaction code you can change the existing IM and remove the material document and activate the IM accordingly

2) If you have the pre-defined selection mapped to the Material variable using TVARVC (which most of the customer follow) in RIMODGEN; then in that case remove the phased-out product from this variable and run RIMODGEN followed by RIMODAC2 programs.

Let us know if this this not clear and in case if more clarification is required.

Thank you

If your phased out product is flagged for deletion at source, you don't have to do anything as the deletion flag will be carried to APO. If not, set the deletion flag is APO so that all programs in Supply Planning respect this. i,e, this product is not planned.

Hi Sandeep,

You should generate and activate a new integration model that no longer includes the "phased-out" material.  Most customers would have the generate-activate activity for IMs on a regular basis so that when the material is no longer to be included (determined by filter object like MRP type) is removed automatically.

Note that the product is not removed from APO.  You can go through the painful process to delete the product or change two settings in the product master.

1.  Set the procurement type to 'P' for planned by external system.

2.  Set the SDP Relevance indicator so that the product is not considered by DP or SNP.

Best Regards,

Mike
