Error in SUM - Configuration Phase

While running SUM tool , we are getting following error after we provides administrator and sdm user password. Server java process are running fine and we have also tried changing SDM password along with Administrator password in visual admin and config tool (Secure Store)

Could not display dialog UserPasswords. Could not execute dialog UserPasswords. See previous messages. Error while trying to validate Administrator password. Possible reason: the J2EE engine is not started. Error while trying to get initial context. com.sap.engine.services.jndi.persistent.exceptions.NamingException: Exception during getInitialContext operation. No server is running. [Root exception is com.sap.engine.services.security.exceptions.BaseLoginException: Exception in creating new RemoteLoginContext instance.] com.sap.engine.services.security.exceptions.BaseLoginException: : Unexpected exception. Nested exception is: java.net.SocketException: Broken pipe

Hi Dharm,

Please check dev_icm log if it showing

P4 related error ie.client with this banner already

then please check SAP Note No. 1158626

Hello Dharm,

please check if SAP Note 1726902  - "PREPARE/INIT/USER_PASSWORD Error while trying to get initial context during upgrade or EHP installation" fits for your problem.

Hi Sascha ,

The above note seems to be related to DNS issue. I am running the SUM tool on server itself. However , I did tried the settings in note which did not worked.
