Extension of substitution to new company code

We recently added a new company code. I want to extend the substitutions configuration we had for the old company code to the new company code in OPSN. How can we do that?

The easiest way here would be to check if the existing substitutions are company code specific. If they are not there is nothing to worry. You can use these directly for the new company code. In case they are company code specific, just copy the existing substitution and replace the old company code with the new one.

Hope it helps.

PS projects can cross company codes, the only requirement is that an entire PS project must belong to te same controlling area.

As everyone here has said if your rules use company code as a prerequisite then you just need to add the new company code as a prereq.  Sub/Val rules do not have to have comapany code as a prerequisite.

Hi Rohit

Below steps  are used to extend substitution to new company code

1>if the substitution is company code specific then you have to modify the existing substitution by adding the new company code to it.

2>you have to extend the project profile to the new company code.

this will resolve your issue. Please check and get back

Hi Rohit,

First of all you need to check whether you have company code specific Substitutions. Only for those substitution rules which has a pre-requisite specific to a company code, you may have to include the new company code as stated by Harsh.

Hi,

It totally depends on what logic has been written for previous company codes.

If the logic for previous codes are simple like: code1 OR code2 OR code3...

Then you can easily add company code in the pre-requisite in the substitution using the OR operation.

Harsh.
