Why you want this switch off for end user, i think its not fair for them. They also need to know what real status is.
But anyway, i think you will not find standard way to hide it without ABAP.
Btw did you tried to play with it in tcode CRMBS02, try to switch off IRT MPT statuses or try to play with attributes.

This is also our requirement. Do you have any idea? I tried to empty the fields for MPT/IRT in the node status profile> specify status mapping for customer status profile, however, the email warnings for MPT/IRT are not sent.
