WM - adding to stock putaway strategy

Hy gurus,

I've a requirement relevant for putaway strategy in WM.

I've implemented the "I" putaway strategy (adding to existing stock).

I've not allowed mix storage.

I've allowed "addition to stock" "X"

I've not SU mgmt active BUT I'VE SUT CHECK ACTIVE

I've capacity check method "2" (based on palletization qty).

I've this situation; In one storage bin I've 4 PC for SUT 1 - the storage bin has storage bin type 1 - in customizing ONLY the SUT 1 can be stored in storage bin type 1.

For the same material we receive a large pallet (15 PC). The customer change the pallet qty (at the begin, with SUT "1" the std pallet was 5, now it's 20 with SUT "A") and THE SUT in material master.

The new SUT (SUT "A") CAN'T BE STORED IN STORAGE BIN TYPE 1.

Both the SUT can be stored in the destination storage type BUT NOT IN THE SAME STORAGE BIN TYPE!!!

I create the T.O. and SAP STORE THE NEW PALLET IN the storage bin in which I've already stored the old qty ... EVEN IF THE SUT IS NOT ALLOWED!!! And miss the new SUT; the quant, after the T.O. creation has 19 PC in SUT 1!!!

If I play with the arrows there is a sequence in which SAP gives me back the mistake "SUT is not allowed in storage bin type" BUT ... If I press enter the system add the stock to exixting stock instead of look for a new storage bin.

I've already looked for a note but I didn't find anything.

Please help me!!!

Thanks in advance

This is from a WM colleague:

First it will always look at same bin as a material is stored
with put away strategy “I”.

This scenario is completely wrong, if I understand it right.

He/she needs to look at the bin strategy for the SU types
defined in the LE qty. / SUT types for bin type.

Strategy “I” is for addition to stock like they said.
Capacity check 2 only works if it is SUT active, which they say it is
not.  Not the check flag, but the SUT.

The strategy for SUT type allowed to bin type only works if it
is SUT managed, which they say it is not.

The strategy just doesn’t seem right.  If they do not use
SU’s, the only capacity check that works is max from the material master (WM-1
view) weight “1”.

The bin type / SUT strategy will not work unless they are using
SUT’s for storage.  Not just the LE qty. in the SUT defined.

If they aren’t using SUTs for storage, it is only a quant.
Noting is configurable for strategy of quant to storage bin type.

Thanks Ken.  Marco does the commentary from Ken's WM expert make sense to you?  If so, please mark your question as answered.  Thank you.

Dear Ken,

Thanks a lot for your help.

I understood well what you wrote.

Anyway I don't understand why the system doesn't check the link between SUT and storage bin type. This check is not linked to capacity check but to SUT CHECK ACTIVE (is it correct?). And it works even if the SUT management is not active, is it correct?

So, why SAP suggest me a bin (in which the quant can be stored depending on the capacity check) IN WHICK THE SUT IS NOT ALLOWED?

Thanks for your help

bye

SUT CHECK ACTIVE (is it correct?). And it works even if the SUT
management is not active, is it correct?.........................No.

NO SU, no check.
