Error while upgrading using SUM

Hi experts,

I am trying stack upgrade on demo system through SUM. while doing a phase check i am getting following error.

Please help in this.

Seems like your brconnect version may be outdated, have you updated your kernel + DBtools before the upgrade?.... brconnect -V is just checking the version.

Hi:

We have a similar error (Last error code set is: Tool release '720' from directory 'E:\usr\sap\SUM\abap\exe' does not match manifest release '700')  but our DB is MSSQL, kernel patch our target system is 720, do you have any suggest for solve this issue ?  B.S.

This is very common error and we resolve it by upgrading kernel and mainly coming from BR tools

Dear Anil,

During EHP6 upgrade using SUM tool, we too had faced similar issue.

Updating kernel and DBA tools fixed our issue.

Please try and let me know if you are still facing issue.

Hi Anil,

Can you please check brconnect.exe file is present /usr/sap/IDB/DVEMGS00/exe directory.

If it is present , then check the permission on this file.

Hi Anil,

As Juan suggested please update latest Kernel on both locations (usr/sap/<sid>/sys/exe and /usr/sap/IDB/DVEMGS00/exe) and try it should go.
