Problem Applying J2EE patches in WAS installation

Former Member

Hi,Himanshu Limaye here.

WAS installation process has been completed till the application of ABAP and BASIS patches( till SP-15 package)

I have downloaded the J2EE patches from SAP Service Marketplace and copied them to a folder along with the SAPCAR file.

<b>Three patches are successfully unsarred:

CTRLORA15_2000118.SAR

J2EERTOS15_020000018.SAR

SAPINST15_0_20000018.SAR</b>

However <b>the file J2EERT15_0_10001982.SAR is not getting unsarred.

Error in reading file.</b>

Unless this file gets Unsarred I cannot proceed.

Please help me in resolving this issue

Hello,

Could you please again download the file and try to uncar and also try to upgrade your SAPCAR utility.

Cheers,

Hi Thanks Sunil for your response.

I<b> am an ABAPer and now into SAP NetWeaver M.I.</b>

I<b> tried downloading it again and repeating the procedure</b>.

However, I'm facing the same problem.

<b>How to upgrade the SAPCAR utility?</b>

Please respond at the earliest

go to service.sap.com/swdc

sap kernel-> select os and then select #Database independent

then down you can see the patches of SAPCAR_.........exe

download latest sapcar and try again

Hi Samrat

I downloaded the<b> latest CAR file SAPCAR_3-20000252.EXE</b> from the service market place.

I started the procedure again but the same error exists on executing the DOS <b>command</b>-<b>SAPCAR_3-20000252 -xvf <FILENAME></b>

<b>Is this command valid</b> <b>SAPCAR_3-20000252 -xvf "J2EERT15_0-10001982.SAR</b>"?

Because extraction started and again I was given the same error:

<b>Error reading from J2EERT15_0-10001982.SAR</b>

The remaining SAR files were extracted successfully.

Do I need to again download J2EERT15_0-10001982.SAR?

Please reply at the earliest.

Thanks.
