Cannot create element ALM_OBJ_7002

Hello,

I am installing a SolMan 7.1.

I have the error documented in Note 1741109 when I run SolMan_setup.

If I run "Create Hierarchy for Material Products", from the customizing,

number range elements ALM_OBJ_7001 and ALM_OBJ_7002 are not created.

Therefore I can not affect them to LMDB group.

How should I proceed to make the solman_setup config work?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Benoit,

Can you please try executing the below steps and check if you are able to resolve the issue

/nCOMC_MATERIALID_ALL

1        Expand group LMDB en CMDB

2        assign element ALM_OBJ_7001 to group  "Group without text

3        assign element ALM_OBJ_7002 to group "ISU Technical Objects"

4        Run se38:AI_CRM_IBASE_GENERATE_71 and it is creating the

         configuration items correctly.

5        Expand group "Group without text" and "ISU Technical Objects"

6        assign element ALM_OBJ_7001 to group LMDB

7        assign element ALM_OBJ_7002 to group CMDB

8        Run se38: AI_CRM_IBASE_GENERATE_71 , still working

Thank You.

Hi,

If you are facing the following issue while trying to expand the groups

An internal number range interval cannot be determined for category

ALM_OBJ_7001

Failed to save object %   1 (Object family 7001).

In the Knowledge Base Article 1741109, you will find the solution:

Regarding error message "Failed to save object (Object family 7001)"

Report COM_PRODUCT_UPGRADE must be run   > SOLMAN_SETUP activity

"Technically Upgrade Products" in step "Perform Standard Configuration"

Thank You.

Hello,

Do you mean that I just have to run sa38->COM_PRODUCT_UPGRADE->F8?

Where is the step Perform Standard Configuration in Solman_setup?

Thanks in advance for your answer

This is the Note that I have provided in my original post.

Unfortunately, it does not work in my case.

I can not follow a basic SolMan config.

I would appreciate if someone could add some extra info on how to resolve this error.

Thanks in advance for your answer.

What do you mean by you cannot expand groups? Click on display groups (the one with the glasses) if the groups do not exist you need to create them as per the note.

I see a previous step might not have been completed successfully,  Can you post the logs for the "Configure Automatically" steps on "Basis Config" for SOLMAN_SETUP

Hello Juan,

I can assure you that all tasks are green in Configure Automatically except the latest one

The Note states,

"If the number range elements ALM_OBJ_7001 and ALM_OBJ_7002 are not yet existing, the activity “Create Hierarchy for Material Products” has to be executed.

This activity will be found also in step "Perform Standard Configuration --> Perform Additional Configuration" of the scenario IT Service Management -> Incident, Problem and Request Management."

Did you execute the activity?

Hello Juan,

I have not performed it from IT Service Management as I do not need this part of the SolMan.

But I have create it as documented in the Note by doing:

"Create Hierarchy for Material Products", from the customizing

Unfortunately it has not solved my problem.

You do not have to configure the whole IT Service Management you can just run the particular activity.

Thats how I solve the issue when I had to run SOLMAN_SETUP

Hello,

Do I have to run all subtasks (2.1-2.5) of perform Standard configuration and

all subtasks of Perform OPtional Configuration (3.1-3.2) of the Incident, Problem & Request Management?

Thanks in advance for your answer.

No you don't, you can run the required task individually. I think its the 2nd task on 2.3

Hello Juan,

You were right.

After starting Perform IT Service Management->2.3->Maintain Number Range for Material,

I can affect the number range to LMDB and CMDB group with the transaction COMC_MATERIALID_ALL.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Juan,

Even I am facing the same issue. But when I try to execute the step "Maintain Number Range for Material", I get the error, "Deletion without archiving is not allowed in the productive client". Could you please help me with this issue?

Thanks,

Vivek

The solution is in the additional 2 documents to note 1741109:   1741109_steps_SP5_S08.docx

or 1741109_steps_SP9.docx

Depending the SP level, run report (SE38) AI_CRM_PRODUCT_SETUP -> radio button "material" -> execute ->

Tr. /ncomm_hierarchy
