Hi All,
I ve created alert category and rules....I can see alert mails in RWB --> AlertInbox... I want to configure mail server in SCOT nw so that mail will be forwarded to outlook... thng is in SCOT you have to give SMTP mail host and mail port... And we are using Exchange Sever in outlook not SMTP...
How can i forward mails to exchange server - outlook now??
Ny help???
Regards,
Rashmi
I found tht profile was not maintened correctly...so i added below properties in RZ10....
rdisp/start_icman = true
icm/server_port_2 = PROT=SMTP,PORT=25000,TIMEOUT=180
icm/server_port_3 = PROT=SMTP,PORT=8081,TIMEOUT=180
is/SMTP/virt_host_2 = *:25000
is/SMTP/virt_host_1 = *:8081
After that in SMICM i created services (SMICM--> goto--> Services)
Here I created SMTP with 25000 port....
After this i sent a test mail from SO00.... in SOST i got below error....
"Message cannot be transferred to node SMTP due to connection error (final)"
In SCOT -- Mail Server is outlook.company.com....
Mail port 25000....
Default Domain -- company.net....
Pls tell me what is wrong in my configuration......
Regards,
Rashmi

Hi Rashmi,
Please go through the below document. It has all the steps explained with screenshots.
Also as i mentioned try the port 25 in SCOT configuration and HOST smtp.company.com.
Ideally you should get this values from your basis team.

They are not going any where.. The configured details are invalid and the mails are not being delivered.
i don't think your smtp server name is smtp://outlook.dspg.com
try pinging the host smtp.dspg.com from command prompt.. if you are able to get the reply then configure the same in scot.
Ideally there should be some one(basis/erp teams) who should be able to provide you with the smtp server details

Hareesh
your screenshots are no visible but if you are not getting any response one thing is clear that its not the correct SMTP address.
Sorry but there is nothing that we can do.. There should be someone who should be able to provide you with the valid smtp address. Try to followup with ERP team/Helpdesk if any.

Hi Rashmi,
can you check if telnet is working or not?
http://www.sapfans.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=273457
take help from basis for doing telnet testing.
if it is working fine then you have some issues in configuration.

Muniyappan.

Hi Rashmi - You need to configure SMTP server details. May be you can take basis team help in getting that.
SMTP port should be 25.
To understand how the alerts will be sent to outlook(client) please refer to the slide#9 in the below document.

Message cannot be transferred to node SMTP due to connection error (final)
Message no. XS816
Due to a technical fault, the system could not set up a connection to destination outlook.dpsg.com: 25. Therefore, the message could not be transferred to node SMTP.
The system was unable to transfer the message.
Additional information of the node used (in the system language of the node):
Check the connection from the SAP system to node SMTP. Perhaps the node is not assigned to the correct destination. If so, correct this in Customizing.
In production operation, it is advisable to reroute provisionally to another node.
You should therefore notify your system administrator.
Hi,
You still need to setup the SMTP host and mail port in the SCOT. In the ALRTCATDEF assign the username and then you should receive the mails to your outlook mail address maintained in SU01 for that username.
