Forecast Transfer Issue

Hi APO gurus.

We are using Demand Planning to transfer Forecast from APO to R/3.

Currently we have observed an issue wherein for some of the products, the forecast transferred to R/3 is less than half the quanitity in APO.

For eg. In APO, we have a forecast as 447 EA for 6th Period. We are splitting the period in weekly buckets in R/3. For 6th period we have 5 weeks. So each week should have had 90, 90, 89, 89, 89 approx. Whereas we are seeing the quantity in each week as 44, 43, 43, 43, 43.

We checked SMQ1 queues but it is showing as successful for the product. And if we wouldhave had any issue with the product then ideally it should have kept the forecast in R/3 as it is or zero.

We are Not seeing this issue for each product. For many of the products the forecast in R/3 looks good.

I observed that our CIF and Forecast Transfer job is overlapping but in this case as per SAP, the system should have locked a record and the system should have skipped the locked Product-Location and go to the next Product-Location. Also if any issue, how come the quantity in R/3 was reduced to less than half.

A strange instance.

Did anyone face such issue before.Or throw some light on why it is happening.

Hi Rakesh,

Did you check in APO Planning book, how the data is dis aggregating when you are seeing the data in weekly buckets? Are you getting the correct figures in Planning book at weekly bucket?

If that i sthe case then, you need to check the disaggregation logic. I.e from monthly to weekly if any time based disaggregation logic has been used.

The following link describes the function of APO's time based disaggregation based on technical periods used based on storage bucket profile with an example.

Here is the link about aggregation and disaggregation methods. You need to verify the time based disaggregation type assigned to your key figure (t.code /SAPAPO/MSDP_ADMIN - key fig details) and then compare the results based on the above link.
