Hi Gurus,
Current process:
SNP Heuristic at DC --> SNP Optimizer run at production plant --> deployment at production plant
Problem: The production plant want to start production 1 week in advance as they require 1 week in some legal documentation after production is completed.
Options tried and objections by business:
1. Add 1 week in Transportation duration from DC to Production plant. Results are ok as far as the planning is concerned, but the STO created has wrong GI date, which is 1 week before the date of actual GI. And this off set of 1 week will happen at the DC and not at the manufacturing plant. So this option was ruled out.
2. Use GR processing time at production plant. The planning results are as desired. But the production start date and end date are including the GR processing time, which is standard behavior of the system. So in DS planning board when the orders are seen in the product level the end date is not as the physical end date of the production, its after the GR processing time, resources look ok. This is creating some sort of confusion for the production planners so this also went for a toss. I think same will happen if opening period is used.
So, the expected behavior from APO planning is, the planned order should be shifted by a weeks time (or predefined days for product location) and this 1 week should not be included in the production time or the transportation time. Any suggestions welcome.
Hello,
If you are using the SNP PPM for Planning purpose , can you try with the Fixed duration of 7 days.
Regards,
nandha
