Is it possible to upgrade from XI R2 11.5.9.1076 to BI 4.0?

we have up tp 15 universes in XI R2 11.5.9.1076 and up to 40 reports in web intelligence.

Could you please tell me some options or best practices.

point me some document guides.

And please suggest me whether upgrade or new 4.0 fresh installation?

Hi,

Yes, there is a direct upgrade path for moving content from XIR2 SP2 (and XI 3.1) to 4.1 when using UMT.

Hi Parimelalagan,

I believe nobody can guarantee a method which will not produce any issues.

However, as a best practice, I recommend you to install the latest patch version of BI4.0 server (currently BI4.0 SP6) to fix the known issues.

You should upgrade the platform with the BI4.0 tool "Upgrade Management Tool".

There are two upgrade options: biar to live and live to live.

I suggest you can use the "live-to-live" option because it is more stable in my experience.
