Hi ,

You can have the objects to archive as -

Process Orders - PR_ORDER

Inspection lot - QM_CONTROL

Notifications - QM_QMEL

T-code - SARA( Pre-processing ,Write(Archiving) , Delete and Read

Configuration in AOBJ (Object wise)

Need to define server path for files getting deleted(check with ABAPer)

But prior to that you have work on -

  • Process order residence period - Config -Define Order type
  1. Order should have TECO with Zero Balance & CNF status.
  • For QM stuff - Config - QM-Environment- Central function -Organize Archiving (here plants undergoing Archival stuff need to be maintained.)
  1. Inspection lot - UD stuff should be completed -(i.e.should have UD status)
  2. Notification - Should be completed(i.e NOCO status).
  3. More ever need to perform QD21 - Putting ARBN status to notification.(Ready to archive.Prior to main archival)

Pls revert if useful.

Milind

Hi ,

First of all find out tables to be archived on two bases -

1.Which one having maximum space occupied   OR

2.Which one is growing considerably faster

During Process /Production order archival ...mainly CNF & TECO status  are mandatory for Order.Means it has got dependency with 'Controlling '.Until & unless order settlement doesn't happen , (i.e.order balance 'zero'), archival is not possible.

During inspection lot archival, UD is important stuff & should be completed.

For getting relevant tables -

If you go to t-code SARA  - give object to be archived e.g. PR_ORDER -Enter

Click on the 'Database tables' which will result into list of relevant tables for PR_ORDER.

Pls. revert if useful.

Regards,

Milind

Most likely you do not want to hear this, but important things you should consider are:

  • Legal restrictions/requirements (e.g. residence time of documents in live system, and yes, it makes a difference for some legal organizations if a document is in an SAP system or accessed in an (separate) archiving system)
  • Business requirements (accessability, viewability in standard reports)
  • Effects on your system landscape (e.g. have you thought about your BW extractors?)
  • Authorization requirements/changes
  • ...
