How to overwrite a value calculated by a procedure in Variant configuration in SAP

Hello Experts,

The materials in my company are configured using VC.

I have a characteristic (say A) in my material master, which has a procedure assigned to it.

During creation of sales order, the material no. is entered an then item configuration screen opens up.  Based on the values of some other characteristics and VC tables, this procedure calculates a value and populates the same for my char. This char field then becomes grayed out, i.e. no longer ready for input.

There is another characteristic (say B) and my requirement is that if B has a given value, (say , B=1), then char A should be populated as per the procedure but it should be possible to overwrite it, by the person creating the sales order.

How can I achieve this?

Hi Papri,

I am not sure where exactly you're stuck but using procedures you can set the display properties of characteristics. You can check this link - http://help.sap.com/saphelp_470/helpdata/en/92/58c7c5417011d189ec0000e81ddfac/content.htm.
