Release PO against a locked Central Contract

Hi!

We are in SRM 7 EHP1 SP 8.

Created PO in SRM using the contract conditions. PO is in ordered status and the contract is updated with release value/quantity.

Now we locked the contract using the Lock function. Later amended the PO and increased the order value and ordered the PO.

System is not giving any warning / error message about releasing PO against a locked contract. Went ahead and ordered the change PO.

The change version is stuck in awaiting approval with Error in Workitem Status. We enabled Process Controlled Workflow. We are using

standard auto approval for PO create/change.

Could you suggest is there a product error that can be resolved through OSS note. I expect a error message when release PO against

a locked contract. Please suggest.

I guess you have got a different meaning for locking contracts.

In SRM when you lock a contract it means - you are temporarily disabling the contract as a source of supply. Please refer to http://help.sap.com/saphelp_srm70/helpdata/en/45/f6fd4af38506f7e10000000a155369/frameset.htm
