The question is if you just entered icmon or icmon pf=<instance profile>

So the <instance profile> should be replaced by /sapmnt/<SID>/profile/<instance profile name>

yes mark, you found where was the error.

I used only ICMON in kernel directory.

Kindly suggest me the steps to do that with instance profile.

Just like I said.. Just enter from the command prompt: icmon pf=<path + name of the SAP instance profile>

Strange.... Can you check if the correct icmauth.txt is being modified after making changes to users/passwords ?

Maybe you have multiple icmauth.txt files on the system..

Usually it's located in /sapmnt/<SID>/global/security/data, and this should be the correct one that is in use..

You can view the file to see the contents of it.

That's weird, you don't have an icmauth.txt file in that directory..

If you open icmon pf=<instance profile>

Go to option m - menu

Option a - maintain authentication file

Which location to the icmauth.txt do you see there  ?

Hi Mark,

I only created that user itself, in that User: admin login also it is showing the same error message. Is there any up gradation needs to be done or is it possible for you to suggest me in this, please.

That's strange.. Did you started icmon with the option pf=<instance profile> ?

Normally you can just add a new user via icmon or change the password of existing users.

Hi,

You should use username icmadmin or icmadm and the master password that you have used during the installation.

If the password doesn't work, you can change the password via the tool icmon, which can be found in your kernel directory.

Kind regards,

Mark

So there is a user admin.. You can change the password of this user, or create a new user that belongs to group admin.

Don't forget to use option s to save your changes.

Kind regards,

Mark
