Hello,
I got a lot of SWAPs on my system ECC6 (Oracle/Linux) :
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Buffer HitRatio % Alloc. KB Freesp. KB % Free Sp. Dir. Size FreeDirEnt % Free Dir Swaps DB Acc
Field definition 99,07 62 344 11 208 18,68 30 000 21 200 70,67 2 873 14 731
Initial records 52,95 10 938 7 444 74,44 7 500 2 338 31,17 5 002 10 164
Export/import 87,59 10 000 756 8,96 4 000 2 130 53,25 236 790
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't understand because I have free space and free entries....
Could someone explain to me the reason ?
Regards,
Hi Xavier,
Just because you have free space, doesn't mean you won't have swaps. The free space is unlikely to be contiguous, so it depends on how large the new objects are as to where they can be put in the buffer and which objects need to be swapped out.

Graham
