Hi ,
I working with NWDS 7.31.
I have some problems trying to connect the NWDI from the NWDS :
1. After I log on to NWDI I cant change the user.
2. Sometimes I get an error "User/Password in invalid or expired" even though the details OK. In this case I can enter only after I remove the configuration.
Is it a bug?
How can I switch users ?
How to do "log off" from the NWDI ?
Thank,
Faniel
Hi experts,
There are news about this problem? I am facing the same issue with NWDS 7.3 SP08 PATCH 00013, Even reproducing every step posted at this forum the problem persist every time I close and launch the Developer studio.
Thanks in advance.
Jose.

Thank you very much for your answer Faniel.
In addition to your solution I'm going to explain what worked for me.
After looking at NWDS log I saw the next exception:
ENTRY com.sap.ide.dii05.lib 4 0 2013-12-05 09:56:26.917
!MESSAGE User/password invalid or expired
!SUBENTRY 1 com.sap.ide.dii05.lib 1 0 2013-12-05 09:56:26.917
!MESSAGE Name server http://sapbpp:50000/sld/cimom is not available
!STACK 0
com.sap.sld.api.wbem.exception.CIMCommunicationException: CIM_ERR_FAILED: IO error: Unable to open connection to host "sapbpp:50000". The IP address of the host could not be resolved. Maybe the URL is misspelled or the host does no longer exist..
So, in my case, the problem was that I was not logged as a domain user. Adding the domain to the hosts archive the problem was fixed.
Thanks a lot for your help.
Regards.
Hi Faniel,
I am facing similar issue and working on NWDS through Remote Desktop connection.
1. Unable to connect to NWDI everytime when i launch the Developer studio even though the login details are correct.
As suggested I tried to add the to DNS suffix of the domain but due to insufficient privileges, I am unable to add the DNS suffix.
(from the local area connections status -> local area connection properties->internet protocol ver 4->Advanced TCP/IP Settings) .
If anyone else has faced the similar issue, your inputs are appreciated.
Thanks,
Arpitha
Hello Faniel,
could you please let me know if the situation changes if you change the nwds workspace?
It should be possible to change it from the File menu of NWDS.
Thank you and Best Regards,
Ervin

Hello Faniel,
I just received the information about the reason behind:
"The user for the development configuration is stored in root folder of development configuration in file buildvariant.config and on the top of that the passwords are cached in certain keystore files.
But it was requirement from DTR side to make user fixed. E.g. to avoid 2 different users to work on one workspace and change files checked-out by different persons."
Therefore I believe if the clearing of the secure store does not work and you really want to change the user and want to get rid of the cached store, you need to create a new workspace.
This case simply check in and activate and release all your changes, switch workspaces and import again the development configuration. The data is stored on the server anyway, so it should not cause any data loss.
I hope this helps.
Best Regards,
Ervin
Hi Ervin,
I can understand new workspace to another user.
But I think that there is a bug.
For some reason sometimes when I am trying logon I get the error "User/password invalid or expired",
from this moment I can not get out of this situation even when the details are correct.
Thanks for the information.
Faniel
Hi Faniel,
in C:\Users\<your user>\.sapnetweaver there should be files called keyring.
Could you please let me know if the password reset works if you:
1. stop nwds
2. remove the keyring files (rather just move them to a different directory for backup reasons)
3. change the username in the buildvariant.config as pointed out above.
4. start nwds
5. try to reproduce the problem.
Please keep in mind that as stated previously, normally one development configuration and workspace is expecting a given user and pass, and it is cached due to the reason I mentioned recently:
It was requirement from DTR side to make user fixed. E.g. to avoid 2 different users to work on one workspace and change files checked-out by different person.
Best Regards,
Ervin
