Former Member

Hello Sir,

I was in middle of a IDES instalaltion - data base creation step.

Then suddenly root filled up

Because of sapdata1-9 folders created in /

but i already allocated /oracle/SID/sapdata1 for this with enough space

Can you please tell me when and how I tell the installation to use only this path for data files?

Thank you,

Chathuranga.

Thank you all,

There was two options to be completed. But first we need to select Database Advanced Options

Then it will ask for what advanced options

Selecting sapdata directory and create tablespaces will do the job

Ex: I just needed sapdata1

and

in

I selected all to sapdata1

Regards,

Chathuranga.

Hi Chathuranga,

In installation Master, you would have seen the page called summary right, there we can give in the tab database system, we can change the path of data files......

Hi Chathuranga,

You need to have /oracle/SID/sapdata1 ...sapdata9 as individual mount points on the server.

If it is a folder then all data will get store in the root mount point "/".

Hope this helps.
