As part of Provisioning , we have identified that SAP does not provision Valid from /Valid to Dates to back end Repository . We need your help to identify how we can get Valid FROM , VALID TO Dates related to privilege Assignment  passed to back end Systems .

Please provide your suggestion around this ?

Hi Jerry,

This note explains how this is a standard behavior. I agree, that this at times get frustrating.

Note 1626816 - ABAP Connector: Delta Handling for Role/Profile Assignments

More details about this enhancement is explained by Kai in his blog -

Thanks for clarification ,

Can we modify J Scripts to pass Validity Dates accordingly . Issue in organization is , we do a reverse sync at a Yearly basis ,. So we have a default Validity date , we wont be able to do a reverse Sync from Back end system.

Hi Jerry,

I think this is where you need a leap of faith. As standard IdM, the valid from/to dates are held in IdM and not sent to the back end. IdM will provision them when they become valid and will remove them when they expire.

The downside of this is obviously if you look in your backend system, it looks quite scary but IdM will do the necessary tidy up, honest!

Hope that helps,

Ian

There was a SAP Note that covered this.
